Don't leave your best behaviour at home

We've seen it at almost every wedding we've attended: It is almost always the case that a guest manages to do something inappropriate or upset the newlyweds with bad behaviour.

When you're at a wedding, it's best for everyone if you try to remember that you're not a an ordinary party on a Saturday night with your friends - you're at a wedding that has taken months to plan and that the married couple have looked forward to their whole lives. Therefore, it is very important that you act appropriately and respectfully.

  Money is boring

Nothing shows your lack of thoughtfulness like handing over an envelope of cash at the gift table. Instead, show the couple that you have spent time thinking of what exactly they might need, and buy them a present that they will keep, cherish and remember for years and years to come. By doing that, you show them you care !

Manners at the table

Whether you're attending a wedding that you know will be of the relaxed kind or you're going to the wedding of the year at the house of counts and queens, there will always be things you need to remember about table manners.

The guest may not seat themselves before the host has found his seat and has sat down at the table - remember, at a wedding, the groom might not be the host, for instance, the host could be the father of the bride. The host is whoever sent you the invitation.

If the dinner is of the kind with a great number of courses, simply remember to always start from the outside and work your way toward the plate, when picking your knives, spoons and fork from the table.

Always remember to act respectfully during the dinner - the couple chose the menu carefully because they thought it would be perfect for their wedding, so you're expected to praise it, whether you share their opninion or not.
